I applied online. I interviewed at Menlo Innovations (Ann Arbor, MI) in Mar 2026
Interview
They require a 3-week working interview process where they will pay you significantly less than what even an entry level programmer makes. You are told that if you don't know the programming language, that its fine since they migrate to different languages depending on the client. However, they don't actually have a metric to measure how fast or well you're learning the new language, so if you're looking to apply here ensure you know all the languages they use. If you have any kind of concern and they tell you it's fine, it's not actually fine. Additionally, I would make sure you don't share any personal pictures and ensure your social media can't be viewed as some of the employees like to comment on the attractiveness of people you may know.

Extreme Interview (XI) comes first… you and a couple dozen other people interview at the same time. The goal is to collaborate and show off your kindergarten skills on some easy tasks. You may get invited back for a 1 day interview. You work the 8 hours as 1 day employee, this is an opportunity to see the day in the life, ask questions, while the team gets to know you and your skills. After that, you may get invited back for a 3 week interview. You’re basically working that 3 weeks as your interview.
