Not Worth the Time
I worked on getting this position through a recruiter. The location and office space is gorgeous. The interview experience wasn't.
First of all, I live more than an hour away, so I thought it was odd that they first didn't initiate a phone interview (like many other companies I have been talking to have). They were completely dodging my recruiters calls for several weeks before the interview, which didn't help the overall experience.
feel old hiring manager
During my in person interview I met with two guys, one of them was the old hiring manager and one was the new. I ran through my portfolio and got some positive vibes from the new hiring manager. Conversely, the old hiring manager was stand-off-ish and was only interested in mobile.
My background is varied, I have worked on everything from print, to web, small mobile projects, to very complex web apps. Although I feel I am a strong candidate, I felt he wasn’t impressed and specifically mentioned they don't hire people with enterprise experience. Primarily concerned that I am used to working on projects with a longer lifecycle than what they are able to do. It was a bid ridiculous because that process is beyond my control at my current position and they didn't give me the chance to work quickly. I'm not sure why this matters as a part the hiring decision.
