They asked me to do a 15 hour take home coding assignment and 5 total interviews. Please do not work for free and please do not do their 15 hour coding assignment, do not let them take advantage of the interview process to try to get free work.
The recruiter mentioned to me that for some candidates they will substitute a 2hr live interview for the project, you should ask for this option if you can.
A recruiter for this company reached out to me on linkedin. The first interview was about 45 minutes of very mechanical "tell me about a time when X" questions and 15 minutes of code. The interviewer seemed very disinterested.
The recruiter told me that the next round of the interview process would be a take home coding assignment that they estimated would take 10-15 hours to complete. I would have a week to do it. I asked if I could be compensated for the assignment and they said no and acted very surprised that I would ask that. They mentioned to me that I could do a live interview instead of this project, but then said it wasn't possible in my case because of the programming language they were looking to hire for.
If I had done the project and passed, the next step would have wanted me to do three more 1-2hr interviews. Truly a wild process.
