      Marketing Coordinator Interview

      17 Sept 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Stamford, CT
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at MGK Marketing (Stamford, CT) in Nov 2015

      Interview

Not much of a job description in job posting, so when they called me for an interview I thought I would go in and see what it was about. They don't tell you much about the actual position in the first interview, they only ask questions about yourself. When I came back for the second interview I was told I'd be "shadowing" someone. I wish I could go back in time and say "no thanks" and walk out..the job is very much Sales and Promotions which is nowhere listed or discussed in the job description. It's cold calling and door to door sales and strictly commission paid. After walking door to door around the city, I was offered the job and told how much I could "possibly make" after one year of selling. You can tell they are trying to take advantage of entry level graduates, which I did not appreciate. Needless to say, this interview was the biggest waste of my time. The job posting is SCAM. Stay away!!

      Marketing Coordinator Interview

      11 Aug 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at MGK Marketing (New York, NY) in Jul 2016

      Interview

Applied and was emailed about a phone interview. Interview was pretty straight forward asking why I was interested in the role. Could tell the person was just reading from a scrips and was very monotone. At the end I was told I did great and they would like me to come in for next round. The woman even said "congratulations" which is a sort of sales way to make you think you just made a great accomplishment and to thank them. Right as I got off the phone I looked up more on the company an found it was very much one of those fake "marketing" companies that have you do door-to-door cold calling to change to different energy providers. I've been tricked into one of these before and they actually don't pay you for quite some time, saying you're in training but any account sales go towards when you'll actually be official within the company. It's very much a scam that takes advantage of people who are looking for opportunity. Replied to their confirmation email that I would like to withdraw my name from consideration and was done with that.
