I came across the job on LinkedIn and applied directly to the company. I was contact by LivePerson and had a telephone interview. The guy I spoke to seemed very nice, although a little over the top in his mannerisms. I was called for a second interview... I met the marketing manager in a coffee shop, close to her home, to suit her. She was 20 minutes late which is fair enough due to London traffic. As much as she came across like a lovely person, her interview technique was not structured and as much as I appreciate the laid back approach to work, it was not at all professional. Mid-way through talking about what I currently do, she stopped me to say she was hungry and called over the waitress to order food.
The interview ended with her saying “I need to go to bed now” which I must say was rather strange, to which I replied are you unwell, not that she came across unwell at all but she said she had a cold and needed to get to bed. Not before saying sorry need to get my daughter some biscuits. The whole interview was very surreal and I knew straight away it wasn’t for me. I had an email yesterday to say I was unsuccessful, shock horror. I had the interview about 6 weeks ago so I gathered with no feedback in that time it was a no. Apparently I wasn’t as strong as the other candidates, of which they couldn’t have been that strong either as they have re-listed the job on LinkedIn. Good luck in finding someone to fit. As nice as everyone came across during the process, bottom line is I was looking for a job not a place to work where one of the selling points is that i can bring my dog along to work.
