I was contacted within days of applying online. The recruiter conducted an energetic phone screen and I was then scheduled for an in-person interview, which did not go well. It lasted 15 minutes and I knew within minutes I was done. I had to ask multiple questions just to extend the interview to 22 minutes. It felt like they already hired or offered someone and I was just a formality. No one smiled and it honestly felt like they didn't want to do the interview. I try to mirror the energy of the interview panel, but one barely looked at me and wrote the entire time. It wasn't a tough interview, but I could not make a connection. The other was engaging, but the energy was vacant, but when I offered my cover letter for additional projects, one person rejected it. It was then I knew I was not under consideration.
