I applied online and received an email about setting up an interview. I interviewed with the COO and could tell I wasn't what he was looking for. My experience didn't quite match up with the role. That was all fine, but he made an offhand comment that has stuck with me. He said something about not wanting to deal with people escalating things after they report a problem. The way it was said and the way he kind of backpedaled afterwards gave me the impression that if you reported a concern to him, he was going to do his best to either sweep it under the rug or convince you that it's been taken care of because he doesn't want to deal with the hassle of sending it up to the next level. Big red flag.
Even then, that didn't quite turn the interview experience into a negative. What really made it negative is that I never heard a yes or no. I assumed I didn't get the job after some time had passed. Then I got a survey from a recruiter who I had never worked with to give feedback about my recruiting and interview experience. The recruiter had never had any contact with me. The name wasn't in any of the emails I was sent. I had no idea who this person was.
I do not want to work for a company like this.
