I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lekker Home (Boston, MA) in Jun 2016
Interview
I walked in to apply in person and was informed that the manager would be in the next day. When I came in the next day, I had an in-person interview on the spot and was offered a trail shift working on the showroom floor for a day during the following week.
During the in-person interview, it was made very clear to me that job positions and responsibilities shift at Lekker, leading the conversation to be about more than just my abilities as a salesperson.
The trial shift involved minor training on the basics of Lekker's brands and culture, with most of the day involving helping sales staff and learning by trial and error. After my trial shift, the manager and I debriefed. I received an offer letter the following week and started working pretty much immediately.

Question 1
For context, I was leaving a position as a barista and trainer at Starbucks at the time. They asked why I would like to work at Lekker instead of Starbucks and what about the customer service aspect I expected would be different/more fulfilling.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lekker Home (Boston, MA) in May 2014
Interview
Online application, followed by an in-person interview with the owners and a quick post-interview meeting with the then Marketing Manager.
I was applying for positions right out of college so my previous work experience primarily consisted of marketing internships and positions at my university. The in-person interview with the owners consisted of fairly standard questions about personality traits and what motivates me. What really drew me in was the friendly and respectful interactions between everyone working there, including how the owners talked with me in a very egalitarian, transparent way.
I met briefly with the Marketing Manager afterwards and after speaking with her for a bit I realized that although this position is clearly intended to start in Sales, the company has enough growth and flexibility to allow for opportunities in other areas like managing the product online and handling website orders. I loved the idea that I could take on other tasks and learn about business in a hands-on environment.
I received an offer the next day from the owner directly and I accepted.
