I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at King Living (Portland, OR) in Oct 2025
Interview
I had two on screen interviews and went into the showroom to meet the team. I felt like the interviews went well and went in to meet their team in the showroom upon the recommendation of the second person with whom I interviewed. They told me that they thought I could be a great fit and that they would be in touch at the end of the following week. Two weeks later I had not heard anything so I followed up. After no response for another week, I followed up again and a few days later the first person with whom I interviewed responded to say that they did not know and that the second person was now in charge of the hiring process. I never heard anything from that second person.
The frustrating part is not being rejected - that happens and I respect their decision. But personally I believe that having two interviews and putting in the the effort to travel and introduce myself to the team in person (after it was suggested to me) warrants, at the very least, an email letting me know that I didn't get the job.
Overall I got the feeling that this is a very disorganized company without much accountability and/or communication between departments.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at King Living (Vancouver, BC) in Feb 2025
Interview
The interview process was thorough and detailed throughout the 3 lengthy interviews and while the team was pleasant, they weren't particularly transparent or slick with the rejection email 3 weeks later, as they waited for a better candidate to come along. This reflected in their hollow rejection email which failed to outline the reason why I wasn't selected and while understandable, they invited me yet again for a different position only to be told that the role was already filled on the day of the interview. Although. I was overqualified with overlapping accomplishments, as stated by the employer itself- they discouraged repeat candidates for a third time again raising the question as to why even interview candidates in the first place when they've internally sourced the roles. This indicates a huge red flag within the hiring vertical of the company and even with the attractive salary package offered, I'd strictly never apply for a role again due to the sheer dishonesty and lack of earnestness I experienced througout this process.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at King Living (Chicago, IL) in Aug 2024
Interview
The interview was fairly straight forward. Mostly getting to know you and introductory questions surrounding KPI development and how you manage your people and business. Mathew was very kind and took his time to get to know me more so than just a slot on his calendar. I went into the interviewing having an idea of where the convo would go but it was more personal and I really enjoyed that aspect.
