Interview
In office interview. Had to do some personality type assessments. They were nice enough in the interview but after working there over a year, I felt I was fed mostly lied.

Question 1
It was all the typical questions and some “tell me about a time when xyz happened and how did you handle it”.
I was on the market and I accepted an interview with this company. It was truly bizarre and not in a good way. I had c level executives give me a pop quiz on undergraduate chemistry. I have a PhD and significant experience. At one point they corrected me on one aspect of a chemistry question when I was correct. I didn’t point it out. I was sort of flabbergasted at how things were proceeding by this point. I should have ended it then but I sat through the rest of it where the higher ranking exec continued to condescend to me. I should mention this interview, should have been the 15-30 minute gauge fit and interest interview that you typically have with HR or a recruiter before moving along in the process to speak to the hiring manager. It took an hour. I sat through it because this was early in my process of applying for jobs and I wanted the experience interviewing. I’m grateful no other interview I did carried a similar tone. I did several other interviews around this time and by far this one was the least pleasant; these interviewers were the only ones that behaved this way. I feel if you’re going to give a quiz you should be sure you actually know the chemistry and when you give psychometric questions you should not comment your feelings about the answers. The asked vague questions like what is your biggest weakness. Then replied well it is sooo good for you that you can see flaws in a tone that I can’t describe. I don’t think the higher ranking exec was even aware how he presents. I’m not sure what kind of operation they run but my impression of the culture from that interview was certainly not positive.
