      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Johnson & Johnson in Sept 2011

      Interview

I was first approached on the phone by a hiring manager. I was next interviewed on the phone by his co-director for the team. Then I was invited to one of their headquarters sites. Prior to the onsite interview I was contacted by someone in HR who had me fill out a form to check my driving record and probe salary questions. I was told at the time that my background was "spot on". I was informed that I had to give a presentation on Wednesday, five days before the interview, although I was invited to headquarters three weeks before the interview. I was asked to fly on Sunday for a Monday morning interview. All of the candidates for the job were waiting together in a small lobby, which I found uncomfortable. We were shuttled from room to room to meet with a peer, have a telephone interview with the supervisor of the hiring manager and another room where a fifteen minutes presentation was given to the hiring manager and his team co-lead. My perception of a youthful culture was solidified when a young and very attractive female interviewer commented to me that one of the other candidates was "old". She used this term as an identifier when I mentioned one of the candidates was a neighbor of mine. She referred to her as "the old one". More than a month had passed before I received word that they had chosen another candidate. It took more than two months to recover my travel expenses.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

If I was given three tools to use to visit a clinical specialist, and if I had six months to complete the task, would I use them all at once or try to spread them out to gain more access to the doctor.
      Answer question

      Interview

      Application

I interviewed at Johnson & Johnson

      Interview

The interview was with the MSL director and an NP MSL. They did not seem friendly and asked the typical interview questions "what are your strengths" etc. They emphasized this required travel and how this would affect me as a mother. I did not feel comfortable at that point in the interview and felt it was not a welcoming environment.

      Question 1

what skills do you use when presenting?

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Johnson & Johnson (Toronto, ON) in Oct 2018

      Interview

It was lengthy, I applied in early July and just got the offer in mid October but they were 4 rounds of interviews— one recruiter phone screen, one video interview with HR, one in person interview with hiring manager/medical director, and one panel presentation at head office. The Recruiter let me know from the beginning when they would be making a decision and that it would be a three month processing what the steps would look like.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Why do you want to be an MSL? Describe a time when you went above and beyond in your work? Describe how you work in a team? What is your scientific/medical vision for this drug?
