I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at John Lewis & Partners (Chelmsford, England) in Sept 2024
Interview
Very easygoing, you do a group interview discussing an event mine was Christmas with questioning each store sector ie catering, replenishment and customer service. Did an icebreaker learning names with 2 recruiters observing. There was no 1 on 1 interviews which confused me but they said any questions you have, speak to us at the end. Also given an availability sheet where you'd put times you would be available on each day, put whether you're under 18 or over, tick the roles you're more interested in ie catering assistant, sales or stock (you can tick more than one). With 2 confidential questions and a bit where you fill in your personal details again. However, I am deciding not to accept if i do as they said there's a slim chance for a permanent contract.

Question 1
how would you go about promoting featured items for our Christmas event?
It was a group interview for a temporary role over the busy winter period. We were put in groups of about 7 and did marketing and customer service activities. We were asked to come up with a marketing strategy for a winter product in our groups and present it to everyone. Next, they had people come around to our tables and discuss what customer service meant for us.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at John Lewis & Partners (Southampton, England) in Oct 2024
Interview
It was great. The people were very friendly. You have to show your passion and motivation. Figuring out the company's background and culture is crucial. It's better to highlight your relevant experience and skills in customer service, teamwork, and sales
