Really fair interview process as you are advised to read up on certain sections of the website beforehand. Now you are given a copy of the questions prior to interview too. You are asked to prepare for a task and present for 10 minutes. The task I was given was to choose brands I would suggest for the department and provide reasons and to consider which brand at John Lewis is an important brand and why. It isn’t a difficult interview if you genuinely care to research and are interested in the role and task. Also emphasis is placed on things not being about the job capability as much (as you can always learn); it is also about how well you fit into the team and culture of the company which is all about making yourself, colleagues and the world a happier place. Believe it or not, I’ve worked in companies and with colleagues who don’t give a stuff about how happy you are so it’s such a refreshing and welcome change! Perhaps not for some people who like to be miserable at work (or make others miserable) and sadly I’ve met a fair few!!! You don’t feel that at John Lewis I’m glad to say!
