I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan in Jan 2010
Interview
Networked into organization through various contacts I already had. Had a phone interview with internal recruiter and an in person interview with hiring manager. Both went well. I also used my network in the organization to help me better understand the job, culture and personalities. Made it to the second round of four remaining candidates. Met again with the hiring manager, his one up and two peers of the job. Hiring manager responded back to me in two days that they were pursuing one of the other candidates that had the exact same experience at another bank. I was impressed by the maturity and experience that the hiring manager exhibited in his interactions and communications with me during this process.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan (London, England)
Interview
The interview process consisted of two stages.
The first round was a panel interview with the hiring manager and another manager from a different team. It focused on an overview of my background, including a walkthrough of my experience, as well as a discussion of my strengths and areas for development.
The second round was a one-on-one interview with a director. This conversation went into more detail about the role, including where I believe I could add value and the areas I would be most effective in.
Overall, it was a positive and friendly experience.
