I applied online. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan (London, England) in Oct 2018
Interview
Inconsistent, disorganised and long hr process with no set structure.
Had 3 interviews for 3 different roles in London, only 1 was professional.
2 interviewers didn’t speak English as a first or second language.
1 was unable to explain what the job was about or who they were looking for.
1 struggled to ask basic questions or understand the answers.
No feedback unless requested, received 2 generic emails and one had spelling mistakes.
Favours internal candidates so very small chance of success for external candidates.
Like most banks, a disappointing experience, unprofessional hr process and general lack of respect towards candidates.
The whole process went pretty smoothly and quick. 3 rounds of interviews with different levels of colleagues in that firm. Ask about previous experience and behavior questions. Interviewers are nice and respected my time
Met with the senior members of the deal and then junior members. Was really focused on getting to know each other and industry knowledge, relevant transaction experience and what I did on each transaction.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
To define certain sub sectors of the industry and trends that are going on.
Easy technical interview in 1st round but did not get much feedback when rejected. Most likely better candidates. Asked for feedback but did not get any response in return. interviewer did not get into any details.
