I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Invitae (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2021
Interview
1) HR round
2) Hiring Manager
3) Take home coding exercise
4) Virtual Onsite
Recruiter called after onsite, said reviews were positive and asked for expected salary. Got a template rejection email from the same recruiter (not a match). I wonder how I was not a match suddenly, after we discussed expected salary (asked for a TC of 260 for senior level). Invitae stocks are being diluted regularly. I would recommend to not compromise on TC even if it means loosing out on the offer.
One hiring manager's phone screening with notes shared to multiple hiring teams; take home technical (coding); virtually on-site with no presentation and 6 rounds with interviewers from different hiring teams based on which teams are interested.

Question 1
The role is engineer but only one round of live coding (pseudo code), two rounds of statistics, one round of lab technician, and nothing about other technical details like frameworks or APIs. The role should be bioinformatics scientist rather than engineer based on interviewers background/questions

Interview
First recruiter round, followed by hiring Manger, then take home assignment and a final panel interview. Overall, well coordinated process! Meet with many people in the team and between teams. Should prepare for all possible questions. Job description would be vague, but prepare for more specific questions.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Invitae in May 2021
Interview
The interview was long (many phases, and many hours of interview with many people) and very thorough. The recruiter who worked with me through the process was awesome, she was very good at helping me relax, she was available, easy to reach, and quick to answer. She was knowledgeable and efficient. She seemed to really care. I also really appreciated that she managed to get an answer for me before the weekend when I was waiting to hear back after my last interview.
