I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Inscripta
Interview
Long and involved. Phone call followed by a almost 6 hour interview. Had to spend time preparing a seminar, presenting, and then getting grilled for hours and hours just to get a one paragraph rejection email. Totally impersonal and rude after the hoops I was made to jump through. No explanation, no sincerity, nothing just a sorry, bye... Very upsetting and frustrating to not get any positive or negative feedback or even a more genuine follow up after investing many hours into their process. You guys really really need to fix your process, or at least shorten it if you aren't that serious about a candidate. And stop wasting the time of people who are busting their butts to try and get hired right now.
Thank you for applying for the Research Associate position. We sincerely appreciate your time with our team during the interview and for your feedback on the entire process. It is our intention to learn more about each candidate's depth and breadth of experience during the seminar and interview process, and a sole paragraph rejection email is indeed impersonal after all the time you spent with us. Thank you for this important feedback.
I applied online. I interviewed at Inscripta (Los Angeles, CA) in Mar 2021
Interview
Asked about experience with handling NGS data, asked about programming experience, classes I've taken. They follow up with a 24-hour technical problem that was fairly simple. Third step is presenting a project in front of a panel of 3 people.
Thank you for applying for the our Bionformatics internship role. We sincerely appreciate your time with our team and for your feedback on the process.
I interviewed with Inscripta for the position of Scientist/Senior Scientist. Overall, it was a very stimulating and enjoyable experience and I received great feedback on my previous work that I showcased. All the people I interacted with were very friendly and knowledgeable of the field. Management seems to foster an engaging and positive work environment. Their interview process is very thorough, i.e. phone screening, tech talk, seminar and multiple one-on-one conversations, but I do want to highlight that in comparison to other Biotech companies the process was very transparent and candid. I certainly had the chance to interview them as much as they interviewed me. During this screening we discovered that I may be a better fit for another position than the one I initially competed for. At the end, a very reasonable offer was extended for this position but unfortunately, I had to decline due to timeline-conflicts. I will certainly try to circle back to them for future opportunities that may fit my timing of career stages and I highly recommend them as a potential employer if you are seeking a creative company centered around CRISPR technology.
