Went through a panel interview where 4 people hid behind blank screens, refused to turn their cameras on, but somehow expected me to perform like a trained monkey on mine — while being recorded without consent. Real professional vibes, huh? The recruiter was relentlessly annoying, spamming calls and messages like a clingy ex the day before and the morning of the interview. Once the session started, the panel mumbled incoherent questions with accents so thick they needed subtitles, while I was left trying to decipher what language we were even operating in U.S? Then came the demand: “Share your screen.” No explanation, no context. Just entitlement. I asked why, and only then did they say they wanted to throw a coding challenge at me — mid-interview — without any warning or prep. I declined. They were stunned. I smiled:))) They insisted on turning the camera back on because they wanted to record. I reminded them that this was NOT a Bollywood police interrogation and that consent actually matters. This wasn’t an interview. It was a masterclass in corporate disrespect. If you enjoy feeling like a glitch in their system rather than a human being — by all means, proceed. Otherwise, run!
