Interview
The interview process comprised two stages. The initial round was technical, which was relatively straightforward, and both the recruiter and the technical interviewer were incredibly friendly and approachable. I progressed to the second interview, which was meant to evaluate both technical skills and behavioral aspects.
However, the demeanor of the interviewer in the second round was quite rigid and unpleasant. He seemed overly critical, finding fault in almost everything I said. For instance, when I mentioned considering inflation and taxes while discussing salary expectations, he responded dismissively, implying I was merely seeking a high salary. He also posed a question about improving the speed of a website's login page without providing any additional context or details.
Throughout the interview, he consistently criticized my responses, even though I had clearly communicated my minimum salary requirement and preference for a hybrid work model. It was disheartening to be questioned about my choices, especially when they had been communicated beforehand. This experience left me feeling that the interviewer's approach was toxic, and I am relieved that I won't be working with someone of that nature.
