The First Interview with Mary was a riot. She and I got along like two bees in a flower. She asked many questions about my background and experience. The questions weren't tough they were mainly focusing on my experience and project management knowledge. Mary made it very, very clear the salary range was $55-$60K (which is $10K below, at the maximum I'm used to earning). Before Mary hung up I was told I was being passed on the second stage.
The second stage was meeting the Senior Project Manager, Jane. Her and I went to the same schools, had almost the same education, even though I had a Bachelor's and working on my Masters. I explained I do not like being micromanaged and education plus growth was very, very important to me. She completely agreed and said, "Thank you. I've really enjoyed meeting you. We are interviewing other candidates and we will let you know soon."
I was just informed, actually the day I wrote this by Mary, "There was a large number of candidates who screened for this role and it was tough decision. We have decided to move forward with candidates who expressed stronger experience in the areas we are currently working in."
In short, thanks but no!
