      Interview

Really smooth interview process - I did 3 zoom calls over the course of 2 weeks or so, and a case study. The expectations and communication were clear, and I felt comfortable asking questions that sometimes can seem unapproachable.

Why do you want to leave your current job?

Our teams work hard to ensure that not only is the interview process informative for all involved (including the candidate) but also to create a feeling of curiosity and accessibility so getting this feedback is encouraging! Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Housecall Pro in Oct 2021

      Interview

My first advice: Do not apply in the Fintech team. One of the worst interview experience I've ever had. The HR person and the hiring manager were nice. But I decided that I will never work at this company after my interview with the SVP of Fintech, Ethan: it was not a job interview, it was a police interrogatory. His disrespect and arrogance was incredible. His approach was to ask me about every single decision I have ever made in my life since I am a child. He went in details, sometimes into my personal life and asked questions about everything in my past. It felt very intrusive and I ended up feeling very uneasy at the end. I'm very shocked that he thinks it's ok to do that. Most questions were completely irrelevant, and it's a terrible way to interview someone. After this interview, I decided that I would never accept a job at this company. If this arrogant SVP acts like this in an interview, I don't want to imagine how he is with the team. Looking back, I should have not answered the questions. For the interview process: 1) HR call 2) Interview with hiring manager 3) Case study to submit 4) Interview with SVP 5) Case study presentation

      Question 1

It's a police interrogatory. Asked me in details everything about my life decisions since I am a child for over one hour. Very intrusive. Where were you born? Why did you choose to do this sport when you were 7? Did you have friends in junior high? and so until my current job. Zero questions about my skills, aspirations, motivations, passions, etc.

I’m very sorry you left the interview process feeling this way about me and I appreciate you sharing this feedback so I can learn from your experience and improve upon my approach. I certainly did not intend to be disrespectful or arrogant - my purpose in asking some of the questions I do is to get a view of the “whole” person, and not just who a candidate is as a student or employee. If my tone, cadence, or the content of my questions felt like an interrogation or made you uncomfortable, for that I sincerely apologize. My goal as a leader has always been to provide an exceptional foundation for people to perform their best, achieve beyond their expectations, and enjoy the process of doing so. If you are willing to share more, I’d welcome the opportunity to have a conversation with you so I can continue to learn and improve upon how to deliver upon my mission as a leader. I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Housecall Pro in Oct 2021

      Interview

The process took about 3 weeks. I did a phone screen and quickly moved to two 1:1s, then a take home case study and presentation. I wasn't given much context about the work they do before the obscure case study. I spent several hours on the case study, but the team's response was unprofessional during my presentation. People showed up late and wouldn't answer questions / speak to me until the end. I was asked what I would have done if I'd had more time (I already spent 6 hours on it). I think the expectation is that you put in several days of work for the case study, which I couldn't afford to do.

      Question 1

Walk me through every decision you’ve made in life since the day you were born.
