I interviewed for a role at Harrods and found the candidate experience disappointing.
The first-stage phone interview with the hiring manager started late, resulting in a call of around 20 minutes. As a result, there was limited time to discuss my experience. At the end of the interview, I was told that feedback and next steps would be provided the following week.
After the interview, I did not receive any communication for around four weeks. I sent a follow-up email to the recruiter but did not receive a response. During this time, I noticed the role had been re-advertised. Shortly afterwards, I received an automated Workday email informing me that I had not been successful.
While I appreciate that recruitment timelines can change, I would have valued more consistent communication throughout the process. Providing updates when timelines change and responding to candidate follow-up enquiries would help create a better experience for a
