      Corporate Account Manager Interview

      11 May 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Chicago, IL
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Grubhub (Chicago, IL) in Mar 2018

      Interview

The interview process was quick and the recruiter was very responsive. They addressed any questions I had. I needed to know if they were going to extend an offer as I had received another and they sped up their process so they could inform me days before they said they were going to.

Lots of information provided and a lengthy process. A lot of similar questions were asked between each interview candidate. Recruiting was on top of it which is nice!

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Grubhub (New York, NY) in Feb 2018

      Interview

An interview process that started out great, but ended abruptly with no feedback or explanation. I interviewed with a recruiter who I really hit it off with. I then had a phone interview with 2 different hiring managers on 2 separate occasions who I also really felt that I hit it off with.. When I mentioned my feelings during the call, they both felt the same way. I was then invited into the office to do a presentation. The presentation was purposefully really vague as to gauge how a candidate puts it together. I formatted the presentation exactly how I would have formatted it at my last position. I came into the office, and gave the presentation for 3 hiring managers. One of the hiring managers said she was impressed and felt I was extremely well prepared. Unfortunately, she had to run to a meeting and left the room. The other hiring manager said she really liked it. I specifically asked her '"do you have any feedback for me?". She point blank said no.. She was really happy with how it went and told me good job. I found this off that she had absolutely NO feedback to provide, but I thanked her. I then met with an actual Account Manager for a more conversational style interview. She was so great - very personable, charming, and clarified a lot of aspects about the role. Again, I felt that we hit it off. I honestly thought it went terrific. At the end of the interview, they didn't provide any next steps for me. After the interview, a week goes by with no email, check in, next steps email, etc. I reached out to my recruiter to check in. Probably 3 minutes later, I get a canned email response letting me know I'm no longer being considered.. Although I was extremely surprised, I completely respect that decision. I reached back out and thanked her for her time but requested some feedback.. Crickets. A few days goes by and I still don't hear from the recruiter. So, I emailed the hiring manager and said I understand I wasn't chosen and I respect that, but if there's any feedback she could provide I would greatly appreciate... Crickets. In 2018, where recruiting organizations are now expected to uphold a certain level of professionalism, I'm genuinely shocked that an employer wouldn't even respond to a candidates email, let alone provide an ounce of feedback. Even more shocked that GrubHub is a company that invests in a paid partnership with Glassdoor, so they clearly care about their employee and candidate experience. If that's the case, why would 2 of your own team intentionally ignore a candidate requesting for some simple feedback? Very unprofessional and disappointing. I'm glad I wasn't chosen, as I would never want to be a part of an organization that ignores previous candidates without any feedback.
