A. Coding Rounds
• Scope: 70% of technical weight—primarily medium to hard-level algorithm problems.
• Topics: Arrays, strings, linked lists, sorting, hash tables, recursion, trees, graphs, dynamic programming.
• Approach: Start with a brute-force solution, then optimize while thinking aloud. Interviewers value clarity of thought and iterative improvement.
B. System Design Rounds (Less Frequent for Freshers)
• Focus: For more senior or domain-specific roles, expect system architecture discussions.
• Topics: Scalability, sharding, caching, API design, distributed systems, database modeling.
C. Behavioral / Cultural Fit Rounds
• Goal: Assess alignment with eBay’s values—customer-first thinking, ethical product development, inclusivity.
• Typical Questions:
• “Tell us about a challenging project and how you overcame it.”
• “Describe a time you had a disagreement with someone and how you resolved it.”
• “How do you maintain productivity under pressure?
