Interview
Works a lot like Don Dodge says it does (search for that).
Can take a very long time, due to scheduling, uncertainty etc.
Slow, with weeks going by without any information.
Interviews are strange - do your preparation.
I had a few phone screens, and over five face to face interviews (and lunch interviews).
People are very smart, and quite friendly, though not everyone looks at your resume before.
Decisions are by committees officially, though a lot depends on the hiring manager and recruiter.
Whilst the 'tests' were not formal they are implicit in the interviews (e.g. skills, intelligence, personality, culture).
I interviewed with Google and other tech companies, focusing on problem-solving, technical skills, and situational judgement. The process was thorough, assessing both technical expertise and how well you collaborate with teams
As described by every blog. Don't go in without preparing. Read everything you can get your hands on, breathe & don't be afraid to ask questions. It's a long painful process. Work with your recruiter & get a good night's sleep before

Interview
The interview consisted of 3 rounds with other Google staff to assess your past experiences, role knowledge, and Googlyness. The questions were straight to the point and geared for the interview to use the STAR method.
