I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Genesis Healthcare (Peterborough, NH) in Aug 2013
Interview
I interviewed with the administrator and then the interim DON. The interview with the administrator went very well. The interview with the interim DON was another story. She seemed to have a distaste for LPN's, because, when walking me through the building she introduced me to everybody we encountered as the 'med tech'. She also asked why I hadn't changed my phone number to a New Hampshire number, as opposed to using my out-of-state (my previous residence), and appeared disgusted when I told her it was an unnecessary hassle, as I had numerous family, friends, and accounts linked to that particular phone number. Frankly I was shocked that she asked this question, as it was irrelevant to my performance as a nurse. Luckily, she was not the DON for a long period of time after the administrator hired me.
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Genesis Healthcare (Moses Lake, WA) in Jul 2025
Interview
It was a very in depth interview about my background, verifying experience and abilities. The people I have spoken with and talked to were amazing. They were very transparent about their expectations in their employees and very transparent about their benefits. They are extremely transparent and readily available with employee support as well. They want their employees to be successful and for that to reflect in patient care and business success. The recruiter I spoke with was amazing in liaising communication between facilities and time zones and has aided in the interview process in a very beneficial way.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Genesis Healthcare (Wildwood, NJ)
Interview
I submitted my paper resume in person to the front desk. Within 10 minutes of leaving, my phone rang for an interview. I showed up a few days later for interview and was hired on the spot. It was the easiest and most pleasant interview experience I've ever had. Of course, the offer was contingent upon background check, drug screen, etc. The hiring manager was extremely friendly, professional and welcoming.
The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Genesis Healthcare (Frederick, MD)
Interview
Conversational. Asked questions about experience, salary expectations and work expectations. Toured the facility which was a transitional care unit on one side and long term care on other side. Met other staff. Pretty friendly all around. The facility was newer and clean. The patients looked decently happy.
