      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) in Sept 2022

      Interview

Applied on 8/31/22, had done a coding exam a few weeks before for another position (did not make it to interview for that one). I got asked to do the coding a few hours after applying so they used the info from that last coding exam (got one right and the other question I was done but was not accepted because the matrix had an extra line on it). 9/26/22 I was asked for my availability for a teams one hour interview (no phone interview, they skipped it) with two hiring managers. They were very nice and asked a lot of personality 5 star questions. They also asked about previous experience and my projects. Some technical questions like what kind of data structures I used in one of my programs. If I didnt know a question I was honest and said so which I belive they appreciated (never try to lie to an experienced engineer). The meeting went over the hour allocated for it and they allowed me to ask questions. I kinda had a feeling I would get an offer because they wanted to know my preference in location and when I graduate (he asked twice). For my question I asked about the culture at the plants they work at, the city around it and if there's a training. On 11/01 I was reached out by another department (launch and deploy (software)), she told me my resume was given to her because my skills matched this team better (which is great). On 11/02 I was formally offered the position at Austin, TX and told about the perks and bonuses, now waiting on the formal offer letter. In all it was a bit long but the people were extremely nice and did not make me feel inferior to them. Great experience and it's an awesome reflection of the company itself.

      Interview

Assessment was quick, but not the most easy assessment. To some it may be easier, but more for a more developed coder. It certainly was not an entry level assessment. Though, it does let you choose the language you would like to complete it in.
