I have been working at General Motors (GM) full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The Dublin team have great people and magnament, everyone want to learn and to do things better

    Cons

The company is a manufacturing company, and the structure is vertical, there is political issues between some teams, and some non ireland teams try to impose without arguments way of resolving problems, trying to attach to the known, that limit the grow of the new technologies, which would make things better and easier

I worked at General Motors (GM) full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Had a great group of graduates to work and learn with. Work life balance was great, always out the door at 5 o'clock.

    Cons

So so many, hired 40 grads, only offered 18 contracts, the pay was poor, the projects would have significant changes made throughout development for example: changing a development language 3 months in so all previous work was void, there are basically no benefits, they make a big deal out of having toasters and hot water in the kitchen as if they're a great perk, I had a poor manager, not approachable, USA has put such pressure on projects that shortcuts are taken like no testing, etc. Once had a senior director tell us that the bathrooms were a privilege. There was no structured teaching or learning like the job spec said, had a few weeks of watching videos and then told to go at it. They promised contracts and then kept pushing back the release date to keep employees from quitting to early in the year. Multiple people in my group turned down contracts just to get out of the place. They keep spouting the line, "we're a tech company that makes cars now" but they still pay and behave like a cheap car company.

I have been working at General Motors (GM) full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Basic Benefits(Health insurance, end of year bonus, pension)

    Cons

No sense of community in the office anymore- you are a number that is it, No real opportunity to grow your career and no transparent route to do so seems more of a lottery or favouritism than anything, Exploit apprentices and pay them pennies, Management only care about their higher-ups, not the people they should be managing The office itself is barebones renting 2 floors, makes it seem like they are not here to stay and won't put anything in to improve it or the working conditions
