This was a very long drawn out unnecessary process. I was contacted quickly after I applied online but after that phone “interview/conversation” the process became longer and slower. I can understand wanting the right people who fit with the current culture, but this was just people taking themselves waaaaaaaay to seriously. The whole thing took about 3 months to only end up being flown to Florida to be told no thank you. If you are in need of a job sooner than later bypass this all together. I became annoyed and uninterested after the third phone interview so by the time I made it to a face-to-face I was completely over it. The office is nice but there’s no energy everyone was to themselves no interaction with each other no chatter. As a minority I didn’t see hardly anyone who looked like me, not good. Not much diversity. The whole process is based on the STAR method they type everything you say so don’t repeat the same answer during your next 100 phone interviews. The questions I found to be generic and not tailored to some of my past positions or experiences I’m pretty sure no one bothered to read my resume. You are to do a PowerPoint presentation about yourself what they’re looking for in that isn’t very clear. Basically this wasn’t the position or company for me so there were no hurt feelings when I wasn’t offered the job. I have an undergrad and two masters degrees which I’m sure is way more then the toddlers who interviewed me and yet I’m not qualified, lol. It’s a panel interview at that time you present your PowerPoint after that you go into another room for a mock phone call. Oh before I forget don’t expect your reimbursement for your meals etc to be returned quickly that took an additional month or so. They pay for your flight then you send in your receipts for what you spent on transportation, food, etc. All-in-all I hope you have some time on your hands if you really want to work for Gartner.
