      Senior Consultant Interview

      20 Feb 2012
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Gallup in Feb 2012

      Interview

I am still in the interview process for a Senior Consultant position. So far the process has consisted of: My application along with an online behavioral test, an initial phone interview (behavioral) and a second phone interview (behavioral). The first phone interview was 45minutes in length and around 40 questions were asked. It was recorded. The interviewer explained the rules of the interview, and from then on I was only allowed to ask her to repeat the question. Interview questions were quite varied - "Are you a team player" "Have you led a team" "Give an example" "When do you expect a promotion" Who pays you" "How do you handle problem clients" "Would you rather be evaluated on your results or activities" "Why" The second phone interview was an hour long and consisted of around 80 questions. It was a similar format to the first phone call. Currently, I'm wating on the next steps - 5 to 10 days wait and if I make it through an HR person will call with more details about the job and after that a face to face interview with the hiring manager will be set up. My advice is to prepare a bunch of behavioral questions as possible (Google them) and have clear examples for each question using the CAR approach (Challenge, Action, Result).

      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Gallup

      Interview

It was the most structured and longest interview process I have ever had. However, was the most enjoyable and self-reflective. For most of the process I couldn't figure what the questions where trying to find, however; then I realized its to do with innate talents and strengths. Overall, by the time I had my 4th interview I started to figure out the Gallup culture and like the people that are interviewing me. So in a way the process convinced me that Gallup is an organization I would definitely want to join.
