I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Foot Locker (Toronto, ON) in Aug 2025
Interview
They want to see genuine passion for sneakers and streetwear culture, so be ready to talk about your favorite brands, recent releases you're excited about, and how you stay current with trends. They'll ask situational questions about handling difficult customers, working in a team environment, and meeting sales goals. The hiring managers are usually looking for people who can connect with customers authentically rather than just push products, so focus on how you'd help someone find the right shoe for their needs rather than just making a sale.
I applied online and got a phone call a week later to do the in person interview. In person I had to visit the store and ask for the manager that contacted me.
It was 10-15 minutes. Went pretty easy. They asked about me random questions and then told me about the job. The interviewer was nice and told me not to worry and that it is just general things.
The interview was quick and easy. They asked basic sales-related questions and just wanted to make sure you would be pleasant and helpful. No in-depth shoe knowledge is necessary. Not for you if you want to be a laid back sales person.
