After passing a technical phone interview, and a behavioral interview, I made it to the in person round. Its 6 hours with several different people in the company. Consists of a tour, interview with your potential lead, another technical, peer discussion, and a couple other interviews with others in the company after that.
Halfway through the day, I knew that I didn't want to actually work at FA. Each interviewer was completely obsessed with their phones. During the first hour, my potential new lead's phone was constantly receiving notifications. The technical interviewer was quite literally playing on his phone the entire time that I was working through the problem, and even left a couple of times to make phone calls. During the lunch break, my first interviewer (who sat with me) never put the down.
The last interview I had was with a VP, and was cut short for a meeting. Okay, cool. I can get out of this mess early. The short amount of time he gave me consisted of him going over my resume, asking me questions, and looking past me at the status screen that was behind me.
PLEASE. If you are going to have someone take an entire day off of work to come interview, respect their time by giving them your full attention. Put the phones down. The company will not blow up in that short amount of time.
