I applied online. I interviewed at Flexport (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2021
Interview
WORST EXPERIENCE - I hope this will help interviewees get an idea about talent at Flexport, and help Flexport fix their interview process.
30mins screen with hiring manager -> 4 interviews (4mins each) with PM, Designer, Engg and Finance.
Hiring manager - he was busy chatting with someone during 30mins - kept repeating specific sentences for 4-5 times..indicating his mind was somewhere else. Totally lost.
Finance - most sensible interview I had at Flexport.
Other interviewers were too immature. Couldnt even frame questions properly "how do you say No" "How do you manage stakeholders"..when I asked any followup if talking about internal or external, or "who to say no - customer or team member"..they quickly got nervous and just kept repeating their question.
PM interviewer was the worst - out of 45mins, he basically dumped his own project on me and ended up explaining the problem for 25-30 mins out of 45mins. He did all the whiteboarding. And when the time came for me solve, we realized that he hasn't shared critical information for me to proceed. So all 45mins went in just gathering the information. Is it tough to understand that the interviewee has no idea what all info is part of your tool and what isn't?
Net net, hopeless interview process. If I couldnt stand them in 45mins interviews, I certainly can't work on day to day basis.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Flexport in Feb 2026
Interview
HR, hiring manager, assignment, PM team, engineering team, design team. I've done it all, spend a lot of time on this process, and they never get back to me after the 5th round!
Great Company to work with. The benefits area great. Flexible schedule. The management lack skills. The work environment is great. The company offer lots of flexibility in the work area to change jobs.
5 rounds of interviews in total.
Phone interviews, written tests, and multiple rounds of in-person interviews.
Very friendly interviewers can learn a lot during the interview. Questions are typical, more on personal backgrounds.
