Comprehensive behavioral and situational interview. Started with a screening via Zoom which went extremely well, then got called in after 1 week for a face-to-face for 4 hours, 2 people per hour. At the start of each hour, I was told the interviewers will be typing their comments on their laptops. And at the end of each hour, I was told to be careful with my acronyms and any terminology that is very specific to my role because during the last hour of the interview, it will be with engineers outside of the department who have little knowledge of the role. The more I heard this told to me, the more I became nervous and I know for a fact that it showed because my nerves have a strong physiologic manifestation (unfortunately), akin to stage fright. The work environment seemed exhilarating (very Google-esque, free lunch, an area that is like a big dorm common room, free food, young, smart employees). I am disappointed for not getting the job, a lot seemed to ride on communicating effectively that was measured on how I verbally explained situations. Diverse experience and skills did not necessarily count here.
