I applied for the job on Indeed and was contacted by a recruiter. From there I had a phone interview with the hiring manager, and an on-site interview which lasted a few hours. I had a great experience meeting the team and the hiring manager seemed great. But I quickly realized that the company was not inline with what I was looking for, and the messy recruiting process confirmed that. On my initial call with the recruiter she seemed unfamiliar with the role. The first question she asked me was about my salary expectation, and we bounced around various topics from there. She discussed the hiring process, specifically the odd practice they have of not negotiating salary. Some time passed and I had a call with the hiring manager. This went totally fine. Lastly I was invited on-site for an interview. The interview process went great and everyone seemed smart and comptent. But this didn’t seem like a very exciting place to work—the slow moving nature of the organization was reiterated by a number of the people who I spoke to and it just wasn’t a great fit. I had all but forgotten about interviewing here when the recruiter reached out to me 3-4 weeks later to extend an offer. I responded to her email indicating that I had already accepted something and never heard back.

Interviewed with multiple people from the department, including head of Market Research and Director of Strategy. Spent several hours meeting from person to person. Some of the interviews were technical in nature, asking specific questions about the role of market research analyst, others were more general, asking about my experience working in a team oriented environment.
