Disorganized interview process with poor communication throughout.
1) Initially applied for 'Procurement Manager' position. Received an automated rejection email and a request for an interview from HR in the same day.
2) Accepted the invite and during the discussion with HR discovered that the 'Procurement Manager' position wasn't available, despite that not being made clear in the initial outreach to me. She recommended a 'Senior Analyst' role, since I was interested in that recommendation I agreed, and she sent my resume to the hiring manager.
3) Received an email the next day informing me that the hiring manager saw my resume and wanted to interview me for a 'Sr Procurement Manager' position., with no explanation or update on the 'Senior Analyst' role that we'd agreed to have me submitted for. At this point I should've recognized this for the red flag that it was but since I saw little difference in the job description between the 'Procurement Manager' position I'd initially applied to and 'Sr Procurement Manager' role, and the hiring manager was interested in interviewing me for the later I thought why not.
4) Interview with hiring manager went great and she wanted me to meet with the rest of the team for next round.
5) HR reached out right away, mentioned that the hiring manager's feedback indicated that the interview 'went really well', and asked for my availability to interview with 2 others right away.
6) Provided my availability and shortly received an email mentioning the 'team was going in another direction'.
Friendly people but probably the most confusing interview process I've ever been through. The place appears siloed off with little communication between the functions that need to work together to leave a good impression on a candidate. In my expereince organizations that operate like this have a lot of turnover so part of me thinks I might've dodged a bullet.
