Zoom call during lunch, so I had to drive home to be able to talk freely. Logged on, tested the speakers and mic, then I was asked to turn on the web cam, and in return I asked the interviewer the same - he said no because he was "using three displays" - a bogus response. So it felt like an interrogation that way - like I was a criminal. Then the guy makes a remark that for the next interview I "must wear a shirt and a tie" to look professional. My work is hands on - I work with motors, robots, laser markers, conveyors, I get grease, dust, coolant all over me - my attire are dickies pants and work boots. These boomer mentality in big companies needs to go away.
