I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Consulum (Manama) in Jun 2025
Interview
Very slow in terms of arranging the interview. The interviewer asked questions about the region, the nature of the comms in the MENA region. How your experience aligns with the role.

Question 1
What are the key differences between international and MENA media companies?
A long process with several stages that included being interviewed by different staff in the hierarchy.
There was also an assessment where you are given a short deadline to submit a written briefing.

Question 1
Tell us about a time that you had to manage multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines?
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Consulum (Dubai) in Apr 2024
Interview
This was a multi-round interview process. The people doing the interviews ranged from engaging to bored/disinterested.
The worst part of the process was a 48 hour task requiring a draft communications strategy to be written for a junior Saudi minister. This is a big ask and time commitment, from which major value can be obtained.
It's clearly par for the course in the UAE given other processes I've been through, but what stood out here was that subsequent rounds did not refer back to the task at all.
Answers on workplace culture and development were also weak, tending towards the implication that 'if people don't like working here, or don't do well, it's their fault'.

Are you up for the challenge of working in Dubai and with high pressure clients?
