      Senior Full Stack Engineer Interview

      15 Apr 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Codility in Apr 2026

      Interview

Great technical process, but vague and confusing behavioral round. Pros: - The HR team is highly professional, responsive, and provides crystal-clear communication throughout the process. - The technical interview (live coding/system design) was objective and professional. The tasks were clear and focused on real-world engineering challenges rather than "leetcoding." - Their own interview platform is smooth and intuitive to use. Cons: - Many questions during the behaviour interview were poorly structured and abstract. I had to ask for clarification multiple times just to understand the intent behind the question. - During the behavioral round, there was an strong focus on management scenarios (e.g., how to handle a colleague's lack of progress) rather than technical leadership or architecture. It felt more like an interview for a Project Manager or Team Lead role. - Despite passing the technical assessment, the final decision seemed to be based on "cultural fit" interpreted through the lens of specific management-style answers, which was frustrating given the seniority of the engineering position. The behavioral round needs better structure.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How would you handle a situation where you are part of a small team (2-3 people) (you are a senior backend developer) and you notice that a colleague (e.g., a frontend developer) is not progressing with their tasks, and it's blocking the overall feature delivery? What is your opinion on team organization? Is it more effective to have separate specialized teams for backend and frontend, or a more integrated approach?
