      Software Engineer New Grad Interview

      12 Mar 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Palo Alto, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Cloudera (Palo Alto, CA) in Feb 2018

      Interview

It was an amazing experience. I was there at 12:45 pm, and first round started at 1:00 pm sharp. The interviewer was a Software Engineer. He asked me about my projects, one data structures question, some Operating Systems related questions, and some general What do you want in life type of questions. It went on for 1 hour. He left when the next interviewer came in. This guy was also a Software Engineer. He also started with project discussion. Then we discussed a class design question. Then he asked me some follow-up questions from the solution I presented. This round also went on for an hour. After that, there was another technical round with a Software Engineer. He also asked me about my resume, and a project in detail, and then went on asking an algorithm/data structures question, and some follow-ups on that. It went on for 1 hour. At exact 4 pm (the end-time on my schedule), my last interviewer walked me out of the building and told me that recruitment coordinator will be in touch in a few days. I got the response the next working day. Overall, it was a smooth and time-efficient process, and they treated me very well.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Cloudera (Palo Alto, CA) in Mar 2018

      Interview

Applied online. Received a HackerRank Link to solve 3 questions in 120 minutes. Average questions, passed all test cases and completed pretty quickly. Got a phone interview where I was asked to design a thread safe queue and questions on resume projects. Got an e-mail to interview onsite and had 3 interviews back-to-back. Overall smooth process, quick responses by recruiters and HR is pretty accommodating and Engineers are pretty passionate about the work they do.

Design a cache mechanism, Merge k-sorted lists, reverse a linked list, implement queue using stacks
