I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Chipotle (Aurora, IL) in Aug 2012
Interview
I made an online application and in a couple of days they called me saying that they wanted an interview. When I got to Chipotle store, a man and a lady interviewed me. I could instantly tell that they liked me, because most of the things I sanwered they went "Wow". They asked me what do I know about chipotle and its culture. I knew exaclty what to say because I did some research online at chipotle.com and saw what the company was all about. What they actually want to hear is the food with integrity and what it is. The also asked me what i like to do in my spare time and how do I see myself in the future. They talked about how the crew memeber can move up in chipotle, Menaning that they get some kind of promotion. And they do, you got from crewmember to kitchen manager to service manager to aprentice and finally to the general manager position. In order to actually have a really good interview, you have to show a lot of energy, smile a lot, and ask a lot of questions, and try to make friends with the other members of the store. At my second interview I got interviewed by a lady who shows too much energy, I later found out she is the area manager, which means that she is in charge of several stores in the area. It was super fun talking to her. She showed me around the place and told me the perks of moving up positions in chipotle. I got really excited because you get a new company car if you move to restauranteur. Finally, I did get the job!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why would you like to work here and what do you know about chipotle?
Asked questions about what positions work best for you, why you want to work there, what makes you a good fit there, where you see yourself in 5 years. Very simple and open to answer any questions I had
I applied online. I interviewed at Chipotle (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2026
Interview
Very brief, was only asked a few questions. I felt a decision about not hiring me was made before the interviewer even sat down. I suspect the interviewer was not accustomed to interviewing and may actually only standing in for a manager that was not working that day
The interview process included an application, attending a brief in-person interview, answering questions about teamwork, availability, customer service, and attitude, and was sometimes followed by a same-day or quick hiring decision.
