      Relationship Banker Interview

      19 Apr 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Irvine, CA
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Chase (Irvine, CA)

      Interview

Recruiter to Branch Manager to Regional Manager to Hired. Simply go online. The company needs people because they use people like porn stars use condoms. If you have half brain, and did some research on the company you should be hired. If you really want the job, I would recommend going into the branch that is hiring and introducing yourself to the branch manager. First, understand that he or she may be busy and ask if a moment is available. Simply explain that you applied online and wanted to see if the place would be a good personality fit. Explain you are eager to work for the company, but wanted to find out more about the particular location. I would also recommend a follow-up hand written letter to the interviewer to be mailed right after the interview. Little things always go a long way and attention is important. Also, don't accept first offer. They will pay you much more. I was offered something like $16.50 a hour and settled at $19.50 per hour before commission. Don't let them use that line that your commission opportunities will make up for the difference in pay. Your Branch Manager has the right to pay you anywhere between $16.50 to $27.50 per hour. The money just comes out of his bonus, so you need to explain that you will make it worth his or her while by performing at an optimal level that increases the managers bonus.

      Interview

The interview process was very good and asks a lot of questions about sales experience or banking experience. If you’re licensed that is a plus. Recruiter called, then met with hiring manager and another branch manager. Total process took about 3-4 weeks
