      Consultant Interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Capgemini Invent (Holborn, England) in Apr 2017

      Interview

I was approached by a recruiter and applied for a Consultant role in the Customer Experience & Analytics team in March 2017. First stage was a 1 hour telephone interview which was actually quite different to what I expected. There were very few questions about Capgemini & their capabilities, and 90% of the interview was around my CV and where I had demonstrated specific skills. Detailed questions on previous projects (they probe quite a bit), how to develop and manage KPIs, how to conduct a current state assessment and implement a new technology system / solution for a company. Second / final round was a half day assessment centre at their UK offices in Holborn, London. The day consists of a group task where you are presented with a short client case study and are asked to prepare a 20 minute presentation on how you would address their challenges. Then you present back to Capgemini Directors with a Q&A session (this was the most intense part - they are deliberately told to grill you and put you under pressure, so be prepared for detailed questions about numbers etc). This is followed by an individual case study (specifically on your sector of interest) and a 15 minute presentation, finishing with a 30 minute 1-1 competency based interview (this is fairly short, only 3-4 questions and by this point the interviewer has more or less made a decision). The whole day was fairly intense - the 5 hours soon flashes by! It is helpful if you have worked at another big Consultancy though as you are fairly used to the environment. Remember to show good team working, collaboration and communication skills during the group activity, and logical thought process and sector knowledge in the individual case study / interview. The assessors are not expecting you to ace every single part (I felt we got slated in our group task and I received an offer!), but be sure to show great enthusiasm and collaboration when working with clients to come up with creative, digital solutions.

      Interview
