I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Canonical (Toronto, ON) in Jun 2023
Interview
The famous written assessment -> IQ test -> take-home assessment. I never talked to a human in the process. Rejected after the take-home test without any feedback and an automated rejection email.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The IQ test is like this: John is lighter than Jane. Who is heavier? The take-home assessment was a classic cryptography problem of X509 verification. Not that difficult.
8 stages for a non c suite role seemed really outrageous, and I highlighted the company culture negatively from the start and some of the stages seemed irrelevant for the role.
I applied through other source. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Canonical
Interview
Muy largo y tedioso. Al final te piden algo que pueden ser 3 o 4 horas de tu vida para filtrar pero el feedback que te dan es bastante random. Porque lo revisa otra persona y no la que te hace la entrevista
it was ok, essay, recruiter call, 5 interviews and 2 hacker rank assesments. not biased but felt like interviewer was reading off a word doc 0 emotion. other than that i dont know what the hacker rank was for.. completely unrelated enginering questions than the job description of course.
