Two interviews with SVPs - fairly standard questions, but offer was allegedly rescinded because I inquired about salary range with the wrong person. I left process feeling disrespected as a candidate and believing that the poor HR process indicates many other internal/professional development/management issues at BENS. Came away with a sense that it is a small, poorly run and disorganized nonprofit. Lowballed for starting salary relative to to other employees (suggest looking at 990 forms to get a sense of compensation since staff are not honest about ranges).
Rescinding an offer for an absurd reason was obviously the biggest red flag, but it wasn’t the only one. Throughout the interview process there were multiple commitments to get back to me in X number of days, have an interview scheduled by the end of the week, etc. These commitments were not met. As other reviews note, there were multiple delays throughout the process and no explanations or apologies for them. Lastly, the offer letter misstated the benefits, saying the position I applied for had overtime pay when it in fact did not.
