One of the most annoying recruitment process I've had outside management consultancies.
First a phone interview, essentially 1 hour of probability theory questions. Easy-ish, but very one-way, no conversation about what the job is about, the candidate's background and interests, etc. Then they ask you to prepare a "Business Case" in your free time, which takes a good 2-3 weeks full time (not great when you're already doing long hours for your current job). You then present your results in front of data scientists and business managers. There's also a standard brain-teaser quizz.
The hiring decision seems to rely only on the results of your business case. At no point I was asked about my scientific interests, management experience, past achievements, career wishes, etc. The work environment seems very hierarchical, not consensus-based and I didn't see evidence of much team work. The managers speak and their reports execute. The data scientists I spoke to were smart but there was no "fun" factor, no passion for their work or even the science, and most conversations seemed one-way and authoritarian. Definitely not a US company.
Didn't get an offer and in hindsight I'm glad about this, from what I've seen the employees looked bored and tired, the software skills were poor and the career prospects limited.
