      Sales Representative Interview

      15 Apr 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Brookings, SD
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Boehringer Ingelheim (Brookings, SD) in Apr 2016

      Interview

My first call was to discuss information about myself and my future plans after I graduate. After I finished with that interview, I had another phone interview where I mostly asked questions to get a better understanding of company as well as my position. He was very thoughtful in his answers and let me know what I was walking into right away and not sugar coating the job position. I then had a one on one interview with the same person. We discussed why I was the best fit for the position and where my strengths would be able to shine. Great way to conduct interviews!

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Boehringer Ingelheim

      Interview

Initial interview was with the hiring manager. Additional interview with another district sales manager outside of territory for additional vetting. All very normal and expected interview questions. Lots of “tell us about a time when” questions so come prepared with examples.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Boehringer Ingelheim

      Interview

I actually don't know if I'll be getting an offer, although I can assume not. The beginning of the process was relatively quick & easy. Apply, contacted by HR to set up a virtual screening interview with the HR Rep. The same day as the screening interview, received an email with an invitation to a virtual interview with the hiring manager for the following week. Eight days later received an invitation to the panel interview round (two 1-hour interviews with 2 regional managers on each call). Was told I was a finalist and given a timeline for the ideal start date and on-board/training. Sent a follow-up/thank you email the next morning, received a response within an hour that they'd be in touch. Eight days later (on a Tuesday) I get a phone call from HR saying they're swamped and hiring for other positions and wrapping up interviews & other projects, and I'd get information on final decisions in the next few days; thinking that possibly meant end of week. It didn't. We're approaching two weeks with no additional info. I messaged the hiring manager on day 8 asking for any updates or if they needed any supplemental info from me (a basic "did you forget about me" message). Three days later and no response. My status on their career page hasn't changed, but the posting has been removed. Apparently, after doing some research, they've got a bit of a reputation for ghosting candidates.
