      Software Project Manager Interview

      2 Oct 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Bluebeam in Sept 2014

      Interview

After learning about Bluebeam from a friend, I applied for an open PM position and received a personal reply less than six hours later. That was astounding. Following a brief conversation with the Talent Manager, we scheduled a phone interview for about a week later. Within 45 minutes of completing this interview, she replied with a request for a second phone interview with a few managers that same week. Less than an hour after after our second conversation, she contacted me to schedule an in-person meeting with management participants from the phone interview, plus a few engineering representatives. After our very positive hour-and-a-half meeting, she once again contacted me within the hour to schedule a second in-person interview with the same management participants plus two higher ranking individuals. This meeting lasted approximately the same duration as the previous one. By COB that same day she contacted me and made me an official offer in writing. Throughout this seemingly arduous interview process, Talent Manager Laura Marks was ridiculously timely, helpful, accommodating, and professional - all while maintaining a thoroughly joyful demeanor. Other interviewers all reflected the same professionalism and a genuine desire to get to know me and my experience as a candidate. Despite the generally large size of the interview panels, all of our meetings were comfortable yet challenging, and were undeniably thorough. All questions asked were completely relevant (no random ethereal questions about surviving on a deserted island or other such nonsense), seemingly unscripted, and each fostering excellent conversational dialog. In conclusion, the four interviews were challenging, but the process clearly conveyed that Bluebeam is a growing company that prides itself on carefully choosing candidates that meet both written and cultural requirements. Their calculated, expeditious decisions, and the top-notch quality of communication have demonstrated to me that Bluebeam is intent on being the very best at every part of their business.
