Deeply Disappointing Interview Experience — Nemetschek Group (Bluebeam)
Pros: The initial outreach was smooth. A third-party recruiter connected me quickly and the first round via Intervue covered relevant topics like system design, API design, Golang, and NoSQL, which actually aligned well with the role.
Cons: The second round was honestly a frustrating and demoralizing experience. The interviewer joined late, appeared visibly disengaged throughout, and clearly hadn't reviewed my profile before the call. He struggled to follow my answers and kept repeating the same questions without really processing what I was saying. On top of that, topics like Infrastructure as Code were brought up even though it was never listed as a requirement for the role.
I answered everything asked including webhooks, the Gin API framework, and more, yet the rejection feedback came back citing "speaking too fast," "overconfidence," and "no IaC experience." None of that reflects what actually happened in that interview.
The gap between my performance and the feedback given left me feeling the evaluation simply wasn't conducted in good faith. As an Indian candidate, I personally felt the assessment may have been influenced by unconscious bias. That is my own perception based on how the entire interaction unfolded. Companies like Bluebeam are going to keep losing strong and qualified candidates as long as their interview process lacks structure, accountability, and basic interviewer preparedness.
