3 month long process
Day 1: I am contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn. They give me the impression that Biopier is recruiting urgently and things will move quick. I am told that next steps are an interview with the HR manager, 1 virtual interview with a person from hiring team and 1 on site interview with rest of the team.
Day 21: I speak to the HR Manager. Conversation goes well and they send me on to the next step.
Day 35: I have the virtual interview with one person from hiring team. They say I seem like a good fit and ask me to prepare a 30-40 minute presentation on SDTMIG-MD to be presented to the rest of the team during the on site interview. HR Manager schedules the on site interview for 2 weeks after the virtual interview (on a Thursday) and says more details will be sent the week of on site interview.
Day 47: Monday of the week of on site interview, i reach out to confirm on site interview since i need to arrange time off from existing role and need to arrange childcare. I get no response.
Day 48: I send follow up email because i need to make above arrangements. HR manager responds with confirmation and provides schedule of interview-
1 hour for presentation mentioned above.
30 mins for technical assessment.
15 mins for any questions and wrap up.
Day 49: HR manager reschedules on site interview for 1 week after the day originally scheduled because of inclement weather.
Day 57: I arrive for on site interview. The schedule of interview provided to me is not followed. I am given the technical assessment first and then interviewed by the 2 people who administered the assessment. I am asked mostly things from my CV and some behavioral type of questions. Initially I provide abbreviated answers to the some of the questions asked about me because I was expecting to introduce myself before my presentation. Rest of the interview goes ok. The 2 interviewers leave and 2 other people from hiring team enter and I am asked some technical questions but most of the questions can be paraphrased as - 'we don't believe that you did the things you have said you did on your CV. how did you do those things?' even though those things (industry conference presentations and publications) are well documented on my LinkedIn profile. I keep asking about the presentation I am supposed to give through out the interview and am told at the very end that I won't be giving the presentation after all.
Day 58: HR manager emails to ask how interview went, to confirm the expected salary and to say that they are on vacation the following week and will let me know the team’s feedback the week after they are back.
Day 70: I follow up midway through the week I was told I would hear the team’s feedback and get no response.
Day 90: I receive an email with no feedback. It only says I was not picked and 2 other candidates were hired instead.
Day 110: The role is posted on LinkedIn as an 'Easy apply' position.
